VPSI’s 2010 Customer Satisfaction Survey Results

Each fall/winter VPSI conducts customer satisfaction surveys of our drivers, riders, and influencers. This past year (Oct/Nov 2010) we surveyed more than 4,000 drivers and about 11,000 riders. The report card is now in: The response rate was great! Thank you very much for sharing with us how you feel about our products and services.

Here are some interesting facts from our survey:

•    64% of VPSI riders have been in a vanpool for more than two years.
•    72% of our drivers have been driving in a vanpool for more than two years.
•    When asked how did you commute before vanpooling with VPSI, 7% said they used some form of public transit and 93% either drove alone, carpooled, rode a vanpool, or used some other commute mode.

VPSI Promotes Safety

VPSI works tirelessly to promote safety and create a safe environment for vanpool drivers, passengers and the many other commuters with whom we share the road. An integral part of VPSI’s risk management program includes ongoing safety promotion efforts. Andy Bawden, a defensive driving instructor of the National Council and VPSI’s Loss Prevention Manager, regularly conducts driver safety awareness meetings in classroom settings at employer locations across the country in support of our safety awareness efforts. He encourages interaction with all attendees and challenges them to keep the safe operation of their vehicles in the forefront of their minds. These safety training meetings are held throughout the US to demonstrate how safe a vanpool vehicle can be when operated by an experienced, alert vanpool driver.

On May 4th, Bawden held one of these training sessions with commuters working at The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, California. The Aerospace safety training event was one of eight such meetings conducted by VPSI in Southern California in May.

Firestone Joins Forces With VPSI’s Militaryvanpool.com Website to Promote Service Center Network

Fort RileyVPSI’s military focused website, www.militaryvanpool.com, which already lists over 700 existing vanpools in service with groups of military personnel and DOD civilians at 76 military installations nationwide, just added some more helpful information for commuters. Visitors to www.militaryvanpool.com can now find store hours and contact details for every one of the 41 different Firestone Complete Auto Care facilities at 39 different military installations throughout the country. As new Firestone Complete Auto Care facilities are opened at military installations, the store’s information will be added to the website. VPSI has maintained a direct billing, national account with Firestone for years. Now VPSI vanpools can be conveniently serviced right on base/ post at any of these Firestone Complete Auto Care locations. Read More

Are you looking for a little extra hip room in a vanpool vehicle? Take a closer look at VPSI’s Eight Passenger Luxury Commuter pictured below. This vehicle has great leg room, features reclining high back bucket seats, and best of all – extra large seats. Compared to some of the other popular commuter vehicle choices, this vehicle has wider seats in all seating positions. And, who doesn’t need a little extra room these days? There is also extra room in the van behind the last row of seats. So, there is plenty of room to fully recline the seats in the back row, too.
