Firestone Joins Forces With VPSI’s Militaryvanpool.com Website to Promote Service Center Network

Fort RileyVPSI’s military focused website, www.militaryvanpool.com, which already lists over 700 existing vanpools in service with groups of military personnel and DOD civilians at 76 military installations nationwide, just added some more helpful information for commuters. Visitors to www.militaryvanpool.com can now find store hours and contact details for every one of the 41 different Firestone Complete Auto Care facilities at 39 different military installations throughout the country. As new Firestone Complete Auto Care facilities are opened at military installations, the store’s information will be added to the website. VPSI has maintained a direct billing, national account with Firestone for years. Now VPSI vanpools can be conveniently serviced right on base/ post at any of these Firestone Complete Auto Care locations. Read More

MilitaryVanpool.com Website Unveils New Content

VPSI’s military-focused website, www.militaryvanpool.com, unveiled a new “Military Vanpool in the News” page yesterday that features reprints of stories and, whenever possible, hyperlinks to the original story about vanpoolers and vanpooling at military installations throughout the country. As military installations from Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska embrace sustainable transportation solutions like vanpooling these success stories continue to generate media attention. “Archiving news stories about successful vanpool programs at military installations is a logical addition to the militaryvanpool.com website and consistent with our objective of raising awareness about the military’s Mass Transportation Benefit Program,” noted Peyton Youmans, the site’s creator.
