The following post was written by vanpooler Michael Aucoin from Metairie, Louisiana. It was originally submitted to our iPhone contest, but it was so enjoyable that we had to share it with our readers.
Our Chevron vanpool saved thousands of lives today. The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway is the world’s longest bridge. We make the 24 mile commute across the bridge everyday. There are four seasons on Lake Pontchatrain: Monsoon Season, Fog Season, Wind Season and Bug Season. We are in the middle of Bug Season.
Today, during our commute across the world’s longest bridge, we encountered a bug storm. Hundreds of thousands of bugs lost their lives trying to delay our commute. However, many more would have died if the eleven van passengers would have each taken their own vehicles. We save millions of lives during Bug Season by vanpooling. Our riders save tolls, gas and a daily car wash fee.
