Those of us who vanpool already know the built-in benefits of ride sharing.
We also know that convincing others of these benefits is sometimes easier said then done.
Forbes has an interesting article on its website about a study in which smartphone users were awarded points for making sustainable choices about their daily commuting needs.
It’s an interesting concept and it got us wondering what your thoughts are about “game-ifying ” sustainable commuting. Would a system that awarded points for smart commuting motivate you to make “greener” commuting choices?

An article from Forbes.com estimates that by 2020, trends and attitudes towards transportation will shift to greener, healthier, social options and that “smart will be the new status.” The author estimates that vehicles will be selected based on purpose and distance — a bicycle or electric car for short trips across town and shared resources for the daily commute, which will decrease as populations continue to urbanize.
