First, let me introduce us. Officially, we are vanpool 30714 and we commute from the west and northwest part of the Phoenix metro valley. Personally we are Alan, Chase, Shawn, George, George, Sherri, Bert, Jay and Donnita. We are technician employees of the Arizona Air National Guard. Our daily ride takes us to the 161st Air Refueling Wing located at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. I’m Alan and I’m the primary driver. I live the farthest out at 41 miles from work so I do the bulk of the driving which I don’t mind at all. Read More

A Better and Cheaper Commute to Fort Polk

A Better Cheaper CommuteVPSI recently introduced a new vanpool program at Fort Polk in Louisiana. Coordinated through the base’s Department of Labor team and administered by Mr. Donald Whitaker, the program assists Fort Polk personnel with everyday commuting issues.

“The first vanpool seems to be running very smoothly and everyone is enjoying the program so far, “says Whitaker. “What a great way to make more friends and contacts across the installation. Our program is slowly moving forward and I hope it continues to grow. I enjoy assisting anyone who is interested in the program. Actually helping the people who choose to participate in the MTBP and vanpooling is a nice feeling. Not only are they making new friends and contacts, so am I.” Read More
