The Unexpected Bonuses of Being in a Vanpool

As a vanpool rider, I usually read or do work-related paperwork during the commute. But in listening to the conversation around me, I have gotten good tips on how to save money–and even on jobs.

One day I learned that my auto repair shop offers a discount to our employer’s employees, and I used it to save $75 the next time my car needed a major repair. Another time I heard about a regional airline that was offering steep discounts and I bought tickets to go see my father at the best rate around. Read More
