Driver Appreciation Breakfast at IRWD

A few weeks back in Irvine, California, an early morning Appreciation Breakfast was held at Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD) with the goal of thanking everyone for their continued support of the vanpool program. VPSI provided doughnuts, bagels, fruit and juice as well as gift cards and travel mugs for raffle prizes. Routt County Vanpool Program

routtcountybackupphotoVPSI and Routt County in the beautiful Colorado mountains entered into a partnership to provide vanpooling as a new commute option for residents traveling from Stagecoach or Oak Creek into Steamboat Springs. VPSI’s services include providing comfortable passenger vehicles, a bumper-to-bumper maintenance program, a comprehensive insurance policy and a staff dedicated to serving the needs of the South Routt County commuter.

By implementing the vanpool program, Routt County officials are responding to the needs of their constituents,who have requested public transit for the southern portion of the county. The commissioners were able to secure funding through a Federal grant and a local donation from the Trapper’s Lake Sierra Club. Read More

New vans roll out at Pine Bluff Arsenal and Pueblo Chemical Depot

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Pine Bluff Arsenal, located about 40 miles from Little Rock, and 8 miles northwest of Pine Bluff, is an active military installation, which stores 12.5% of the nation’s obsolete chemical weapons. Pine Bluff Chemical Activity conducts the current operations to destroy the part of the US chemical weapon stockpile held at the arsenal.

The vanpool program was launched in late August 2009 and eight groups initially signed up immediately. Most of these groups have long commutes, averaging 80 miles round trip. Springtime Vehicle Maintenance Tips

After a long winter, it’s important to get your vehicle back in tip-top shape. Here are some car care tips to help you out:

Exterior
1. A good hand wash of your vehicle is very important in the spring. Take the time to check out the condition of your paint while you’re washing and make note of any chips or scratches.
2. If you do find some minor damage to your vehicle’s paint, contact your local VPSI representative for guidance. It’s important to prevent rust from forming!
3. Spray the salt and dirt out of your wheel wells (a favorite hiding spot for rust).
4. Check the windshield for stone chips or cracks. It often isn’t necessary to replace the entire windshield, if the chips are repaired while still relatively small. Read More
