Celebrating the 1st VPSI Vanpool at the Tobyhanna Army Depot!

After considerable effort and promotion, VPSI delivered the first 12 passenger luxury van to the Tobyhanna Army Depot where more than 5,600 federal employees and contractors commute on a daily basis. Located in the mountains of eastern PA, the base has a huge impact on local traffic and congestion. Additional vanpools will help mitigate these concerns.

As the result of several on site meetings conducted in conjunction with Association of Federal Government Employees (AFGE) union representatives, a great deal of information was shared, interest was stirred and our vanpool demonstration vehicle got a lot of exposure. While there are other providers in the market, the vehicles and amenities VPSI offers will clearly be the product of choice for these commuters. VPSI vehicles, with individual high-back reclining seats and other conveniences are well suited for these customers who travel long distances and for whom reliability is a great concern.

On July 29th we started our first Tobyhanna vanpool group and have another prospect for September and look forward to a growing presence at Tobyhanna.

If you take a look back 20 years, you’ll see Van Pool Of New Jersey, Inc started 10 vanpools from disgruntled bus pool riders that were transferred from motor coaches to school buses. VPNJ continued to serve the accounts well into the 90′s.

I hear ya Steve, we remembered the way to get to Tobyhanna by the bread crums we left back in the day!
