Motorcycles and scooters are no doubt fun to drive. From an environmental point of view, they are also more green than average car. That’s why Compuware Corporation in downtown Detroit decided to host the nationally recognized Ride to Work Day on June 21, 1010.
Employees were encouraged to ride their motorcycle or scooter to work on June 21, instead of driving a car or truck. Bikes were displayed at lunch so fellow employees could come and take a look and ask questions. A driver safety sheet titled “Ten Things All Car and Truck Drivers Should Know about Motorcycles” was also distributed to the attendees.
Spectators also had an opportunity to vote for their favorite bike, in different categories. Here are just a few of the awards:
The McQueen (People’s Choice – it’s just too cool)
The Attention Getter (the loudest, baddest thing on two wheels)
The Linda Blair (turns my head – for whatever reason)
Saving the Earth (most mpg)
