Number One Reason: Inconvenience

poll-traffic-congestoinAccording to a new poll from Transportation for America, the majority of Americans, 59 percent, strongly support improved public transportation and other forms of alternative transportation to reduce traffic congestion. And it’s not just city-dwellers who are calling for more transportation options, 79 percent of respondents living in rural areas agree with the need for safer walking and biking conditions.

Also surprising, 73 percent of voters in the poll said they “have no choice but to drive as much as” they currently do. Of voters not using alternative transportation, the number one reason against doing so was inconvenience.
